Last Week

11/28/2010

This week will be the same as normal -- you will respond to the question by making a new post on the blog page of your website.  Make sure and read other people's blogs this week to see what they wrote!

We had quite a few days off last week, and I'm sure a lot of different things happened from crazy bus rides to fun snow days and fabulous Thanksgiving dinners.  In your blog this week, tell about one or several things that happened over the snow/Thanksgiving holiday.

If you already posted about your time off, double check it and make sure it has at least 75 words!

Normal rules:

**must be at least 75 words
**use school appropriate language
**include correct usage of capitals and periods

Your response is due by Thursday, 12/2, 10pm.

Thanksgiving

11/19/2010

This one's just for fun.  Answer on your own website like usual.

Question:  What are you thankful for?

You don't have to answer with a certain amount of words.  You could even use a list in your post, or a poem!  Can't wait to read your responses.  :)

Good Book

11/12/2010

This week will be the same as last week -- you will respond to the question by making a new post on the blog page of your website.  Make sure and read other people's blogs this week to see what they wrote!

Question:  What book (children's literature) have you read that you think deserved the Newbery award?  Explain why you think it should have won (think characters, plot, setting, theme...).  Also, include the title of the book and the author so your classmates can find this great book!

This great book can't have actually won the Newbery. Check the list if you're wondering about past winners:
Newbery Winners, 1922 - present
It also can't be one of the 7 books that we are reading for our Newbery project.

Normal rules:

**must be at least 75 words
**use school appropriate language
**include correct usage of capitals and periods

Your response is due by Thursday, 11/18, 10pm.

Veterans Day

11/5/2010

This week will be the same as last week -- you will respond to the question by making a new post on the blog page of your website.  Make sure and read other people's blogs this week to see what they wrote!

This week we have a day off of school on Thursday to honor our veterans.  The holiday was first celebrated on November 11, 1919 to celebrate the end of WWI the previous year, and to honor the men that had fought in that war.

Question: Why is it still important today that we honor the veterans that serve our country?

If you're not sure how to answer this one, ask someone in your family! It's a sure bet that someone has a story to share with you.

Normal rules:

**must be at least 50 words
**use school appropriate language
**include correct usage of capitals and periods

Your response is due by Thursday, 11/11 (Yes, even though there is No School).
